Mangaluru, Jun 29: In a major crackdown on corruption, the Lokayukta conducted extensive raids on several government offices and residences in connection with allegations of corruption, dereliction of duty, and file delays. The raids were carried out on Saturday June 29, targeting the deputy director of land records office and the assistant director of land records office in Natekal, and the residences of two surveyors.
The operation commenced early in the morning at the Mangaluru taluk office's deputy director of land records. The Lokayukta team, armed with search warrants, meticulously examined records and documents. Following the morning raid, the team moved to the assistant director's office in Natekal, where further scrutiny of documents took place throughout the afternoon.
Acting on leads obtained during the raids, the Lokayukta officials then searched the residence of Krishna Murthy, a licensed surveyor, and government surveyor, in Bantwal. The search operation continued until late evening, with officials working diligently until 7:30 PM to gather relevant documents.
