Mangaluru: Youth creates disturbance at Kadri temple, taken into custody

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (MS)

Mangaluru, Jul 9: In a startling incident on Tuesday July 9, a youth from Dharmanagara Ullal, identified as Sudhakar Acharya, entered the historically renowned Kadri Sri Manjunatha temple and caused a disturbance.

The youth rode his bike directly into the temple yard and proceeded to the Annappa Gudi, where he kicked the door and disrupted the sanctity by mishandling sacred artefacts.

Upon entering the Annappa Gudi, he climbed stairs and jumped onto the temple roof from a window in an erratic manner. Reports suggest he attempted to assault a priest who questioned his behaviour.

Local youths intervened, subdued the youth, and handed him over to the Kadri police. Investigations are underway, revealing that he works as a security guard at a private hospital in the city.

It has been highlighted as a severe security lapse, given that the youth managed to breach the temple's security despite the presence of seven guards. The Kadri temple administration has filed a complaint, noting previous instances of similar disruptive behaviour at other temples.

Authorities state that Sudhakar Acharya may be mentally unstable and is currently undergoing treatment. His mother confirmed that he had not taken his medication for three days and had been behaving unusually. He informed his mother before the incident, taking his brother's motorcycle to the temple.

I'm wondering since when this 'mental instability' began. When he was still employed at the private hospital or just when he exhibited his true color in the temple ? Imagine if the young man wasn't a temple going community member ? May have been in proper state of mind and would have already been branded a T

Suppose Sudhakar Acharya is suffering from mental illness, leave him aside unharmed. I have noticed some people who have bipolar disease are behaving like that. It is not their fault. The chemical substance in their brain is working to act radically/rudely

Mind is the master of our body and actions... Let's show mercy and let him be treated for calmness in his life... But once imbalanced mental state often remains fragile... Sad case... Luckily not much damage...
