Puttur: Fake lottery news leads to harassment of tailor

Daijiworld Media Network – Puttur (MS)

Puttur, Jul 12: A tailor working near Ganapathi Math on Car Street, Uppinangady, has been harassed by the public over phone calls seeking help and extending congratulations on his alleged win of Rs one crore in the Kerala Lottery. This news, however, was false propaganda spread by some miscreants.

Rumours spread rapidly on social media that the tailor, Koosappa, had won Rs one crore in the Kerala state lottery. The false news further claimed that he had received Rs 70 lac in his account after a deduction of Rs 30 lac as tax.

When contacted by the media, Koosappa clarified that he had not won any lottery. He expressed frustration over the situation, saying, "Some miscreants have just made fun of me. I am sick of answering phone calls from people congratulating me and asking for financial help."

Even if he won the lottery in real, he should say the same and keep the bounty for himself. You can't trust anyone these days. When there is money involved, a lot of new friends and family members show up to congratulate.
