Udupi, Jul 13: "The Siddaramaiah government has been filled with scams and scandals for the past year. For the first time, the Congress government has swallowed Rs 187 crore meant for Dalits," said R Ashoka, opposition leader in Udupi.
Speaking to the media, R Ashok stated, "They have transferred the money to bars, wine stores, and withdrawn it. The ED inquiry clearly shows the involvement of the minister himself. The MUDA scam has shaken the nation. As many as 86,000 applicants are waiting for sites in MUDA, but none have received any. Some Dalits are the real owners of the land that the Siddaramaiah family got transferred to their name. This scam should be handed over to the CBI, and chief minister (CM) Siddaramaiah should resign."
Regarding the all-party meeting called by the CM for the Cauvery issue, R Ashok said, "We are getting contradictory orders related to Cauvery after Siddaramaiah came to power. The farmers have been protesting for many days, but the CM has not even visited them. The Congress government is releasing water and fighting for CM and DyCM positions."
Discussing the upcoming sessions, Ashok said, "As an opposition party, we will do constructive work and highlight the government's wrongdoings. The people of the state should reject this government in all upcoming elections. Both BJP and JDS will hold the government responsible for its actions."
"Congress jailed us all during the emergency, imposed censorship on the media, and imprisoned many seniors. Congress and Indira Gandhi murdered democracy. Narendra Modi and BJP are doing the right thing. No one should dare to bring back an emergency in this country in the future. This remembrance should happen often, and thus BJP has declared this day," Ashok added.
