Karnataka govt sets maximum age limit of 8 years for first std admission

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Jul 13: Starting from the next academic year (2025-26), the Karnataka government has established a maximum age limit of 8 years for first standard admission. Additionally, the minimum age limit for first standard entry remains at 6 years.

In an official order, the government has specified that the maximum age for lower kindergarten (LKG) admission will be 6 years, and for upper kindergarten (UKG), it will be 7 years. The minimum age for LKG admission is set at 4 years.

Previously, only the minimum age limits for LKG, UKG, and first standard admissions were defined. The lack of a maximum age limit was identified as a potential cause for increased dropout rates among children. To address this issue, the government has now set these maximum age limits.

The admission process for the academic year 2023-24 has already concluded, and the process for 2024-25 is currently underway.

A very good move by Karnataka Govt. Even the BJP members will go on strike for this., but only after the rain stops. They don’t strike during the rain because their clothes get ruined.😊
