Bengaluru, July 15: The Western Entrance Gate of the majestic stone marvel of Vidhana Soudha built by former chief minister Kengal Hanumanthaiah got a renovated and modern look with teak wood instead of the age-old and dust-coated iron grills, which was formally inaugurated by chief minister Siddaramaiah on Monday, July 15.
State Legislative Assembly speaker U T Khader, council chairman Basavaraj Horatti and other cabinet ministers as well as legislators were present during the formal inauguration.
“I am very happy to see that the entrance to the Vidhana Soudha gets a new and attractive look and get-up as the dust-laden and age-old iron grills presented a very dated and staid look,” Siddaramaiah said.
Assembly Speaker Khader and council chairman Horatti took the lead in convincing the chief minister of the need for refurbishing the entrance, which attracts a constant stream of visitors including dignitaries.
