Udupi: Ashwini Shetty succumbs to injuries in Ambalpady house fire incident

Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi (JD)

Udupi, Jul 16: Ashwini Shetty (50), who was seriously injured in the fire mishap in Ambalpady, has succumbed to her injuries on July 16. Her husband, Ramananda Shetty (55), died on July 15 due to the same incident.

The fire occurred in the house of Ramananda and Ashwini Shetty on July 15, resulting in major damage to the house and injuries to its residents. The three-story house was completely burnt from the inside. The exact cause of the incident is still under investigation.

The fire was discovered in the early hours of July 15. Fire service personnel, the police department, and locals rushed to the spot. Firefighters had to operate with face masks due to the heavy smoke inside the house. They rescued two children who were hiding in the bathroom.

The house, equipped with central AC, had low ventilation, which contributed to the severity of the incident. Ramananda Shetty succumbed to the smoke inhalation, while Ashwini Shetty was admitted to a private hospital in Manipal in critical condition.

Ashwini Shetty was a semi-finalist of Daijiworld TV’s Coastal Chef cooking reality show. She was also an influential vlogger and active on social media.

I am saddened to hear about the passing of Ashwini shetty . I recently came across her reels, and I was deeply moved by her ability to beautifully explain culture in a way that is both spiritual and logical. Her insights were truly inspiring and will undoubtedly serve as a guiding light for the upcoming generations.May her soul rest in peace.

Hard for the children.Loosing both Parents in one stretch.Heartfelt sympathy to them and family.Sometimes I doubt whether this couple had any problems with financial things? When children could escape and secure in bathroom ,why not couple ?When whole house was burnt ,why couldnt send a sos signal to fire fighters?Very mysterious. They both died with severe burns.May their soul rest in Peace.

A very sad news. 14-July night they all slept happily and next day morning was a black day for their family. Unfortunate tragedy happened. Life is uncertain. May God provide courage and strength to their children to come in grip with the unforeseen situation.

Poorly designed Air Condition system. Technically, every Central Air Condition system should have alarms for low pressure, high temperature and smoke detection.

RIP departed souls😔🙏! Extremely unfortunate and tragic end to a lovely couple in the home that they had built with so much love and effort! Best is to keep things as simple as possible; in this case the interiors with flammable materials and the extra metal doors with locks could be directly responsible for this tragedy! If at all they had kept a rapid exit route ....a big lesson for others who think they are safe in their mansions.... without due consideration to an emergency escape route while designing the house; houses without access roads to 🚒 are death traps 😞🙏

The house did not have proper escape route. Adjustment fixtures is always a bad idea. Central A/C must have been installed without a proper construction and might have adjusted to existing structure. Bad luck.

Very sad. Due to low ventilation and excessive smoke, these people inside cannot escape from their homes, and in such dire circumstances, even the path outside is not visible. The children have become orphans. May God grant peace to the departed souls. 🙏
