Santhekatte underpass construction: MP Kota Poojary warns of action over delay in work

Udupi, Jul 16: Kota Srinivas Poojary, MP warned of taking strict action, if the Santhekatte underpass construction is not completed on time.

The MP, in a meeting held with district officials on July 15, expressed serious concern over the delay in underpass construction. “The delay in construction of Kallianpur-Santhekatte underpass is causing inconvenience to the public and has become an accident-prone zone. During a recent visit to the site with district officials and the superintendent of police, engineers and contractors informed that the work will be completed promptly. But now the highway authorities stay silent when the situation has worsened," he said. 

He warned the the NHAI officials to start work soon after the rain intensity reduces. He also added that any delay will lead to disciplinary action.

After a prolonged discussion, officials expressed their confidence in starting work after the intensity of rain reduces.

Dr Vidyakumari, deputy commissioner, Mamatha Devi, additional deputy commissioner and other officials were present in the meeting.
