Bantwal, Jul 27: A python was found in a plastic waste bin at a government high school near the Vagga National Highway on Friday, July 26.

The incident occurred at the school near the Karinja Kodyamale reserve forest. The python entered one of the classrooms late Thursday night and, after feeding on rats, became stuck in the plastic waste bin.

On Friday morning, the headmaster, upon opening the door as usual, was shocked to find the python. With the help of fellow teachers, the python was safely placed in a bag and released into the nearby forest.

Last year, a cobra and another python were also found in the school premises, but they retreated into a hole before snake expert Kiran could arrive. The school's headmaster, Adam Sheikh, mentioned that the presence of a tin roof has led to a rat infestation, which occasionally attracts snakes.

Parents of the students, proud of the school's consistent 100% pass rate, are urging the government to construct a well-equipped building for the school.
