Wenamitaa's alumni reunion ‘REU_NITTE 24’ a grand success in Kochi

Kochi, July 31: The Alumni Association of NMAM Institute of Technology, Nitte, which is popularly known as 'Wenamitaa', organised a momentous reunion ‘REU_NITTE 24’ at the Chakolas Pavilion, Kochi on July 27 bringing together a good number of alumni of NMAM Institute of Technology (NMAMIT), Nitte. The event was graced by distinguished guests and officials, making it a memorable gathering for all attendees.

Dr. M S Moodithaya, vice-chancellor of Nitte (Deemed to be University), delivered an inspiring keynote address, emphasising the importance of alumni in the growth and development of their alma mater. He highlighted the achievements of NMAMIT and encouraged alumni to contribute to the institution's future endeavours.

Dr Gopal Mugeraya, vice-president (Technical Education), spoke about the advancements in technical education and the pivotal role NMAMIT has played in shaping skilled engineers. He urged the alumni to continue their professional excellence and uphold the values instilled in them during their time at NMAMIT.

The reunion also featured heartfelt wishes and the presence of ex-Principal Prof G R Rai. He was also honoured by the organising team during this occasion. Dr Niranjan N Chiplunkar, principal of NMAMIT, provided an update on the current initiatives and future plans of NMAMIT.

Capt Ganesh Karnik, general manager (Administration) of Nitte Education Trust, expressed his gratitude to the alumni for their unwavering support and highlighted the trust's ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of education and infrastructure at NMAMIT.

Mulki Jeevan K Shetty, president of Wenamitaa in his speech acknowledged the contributions of N Vinaya Hegde, president of Nitte Education Trust and chancellor, Nitte DU and many old students in organising such an event. He also requested the institute management to have some reservations for the kids of alumni of NMAMIT in the admission process.

Prof Prasanna Kailaje, director, Student Welfare & Alumni Relations, Dr Rajesh Shetty, dean (admissions), Alumni Coordinator of NMAMIT Dr Jnaneshwar Pai, past president of Wenamitaa Dr Prabha Niranjan, officer superintendents  Suneetha Shetty, Keshava Mugeraya, Shailaja Shetty and sports administrator Shyam Sundar M, vice-president of Wenamitaa Avinash Krishnakumar, joint secretary Sharath Salian were the other dignitaries present during the event. Joseph Jose, the man behind the event arrangement was also honoured during the programme.

Niaz Ibrahim, co-convenor of the programme welcomed the gathering. Ramachandra Shenoy rendered the invocation.  Rakesh Ramachandran, convenor of REU_NITTE 24 delivered the introduction speech. Adarsh Joseph delivered the formal vote of thanks. Sudhir Menon was the master of the ceremony.

The event included a series of engaging activities, networking sessions, and cultural performances, making it a lively and vibrant occasion. Alumni had the opportunity to reconnect with their batchmates, share their professional journeys, and discuss ways to give back to their alma mater.

The evening concluded with a grand dinner, where old friendships were rekindled, and new connections were forged. The Nitte Engineers Alumni Reunion at Chakolas Pavilion, Kochi, was not just a celebration of the past, but also a step towards a collaborative and promising future for NMAM Institute of Technology and its illustrious alumni.
