Kundapur: Tribute paid to veteran journalist Jayakar Suvarna

Kundapur, Aug 7: “Jayakar Suvarna, a renowned veteran journalist known for guiding junior reporters and his modest personality, has been fondly remembered for his commitment to social responsibility,” said Nagraj Rayappa Mutt, president of the active journalists' association of Kundapura taluk, highlighting the qualities of the journalist, during the memorial service for Suvarna, who passed away on Monday night due to a heart attack.

Santosh Kundeshwar, a member of the Karnataka Photographers Association, praised Suvarna as a proactive and socially conscious individual.

During the tribute, attendees paid floral homage to a portrait of the late Jayakar Suvarna. A minute of silence was observed to pray for his soul's peace.

The event was attended by officials and members of the Kundapur Taluk Working Journalists Association. Additionally, gratitude was expressed to those who supported the journalists' association in the subsequent general meeting.
