Byndoor, Aug 12: While the BJP and JD(S) are conducting the 'Mysuru Chalo Yatra' against the Congress government, a serious issue is brewing in the Byndoor Assembly constituency, where it's alleged that the rights of elected representatives are being curtailed. Udupi district officials have reportedly instructed authorities not to attend meetings called by the MLA at public offices, sparking outrage among BJP workers in Byndoor. This has escalated into a conflict between the legislative and executive branches in the region.

Responding to the situation, MLA Gururaj Gantihole stated that a meeting with officials was scheduled on Monday, August 12 at the Uppunda worker's office to address various issues. However, it is alleged that district officials instructed authorities not to attend the meeting, which MLA Gantihole condemned as an act of undermining the rights of an elected representative.

In protest, the MLA announced that he would stage an overnight hunger strike in front of the Byndoor Taluk Office from 5 PM on Monday.

Hundreds of supporters have gathered in Byndoor in support of the MLA. The conflict between the legislative and executive branches in Byndoor could potentially spread across the state, leading to widespread outrage, it is said.
