Mangaluru, Aug 15: In connection with the murder of rowdy-sheeter Kadappa Sameer in Kallapu, the police have arrested four individuals and have intensified the search for a fifth accused.
The arrested individuals are identified as Mohammad Naushad (26) from Katipalla, Niyaz (23) from Natekal Sankesh, Tanveer alias Tannu (27) from Bajal Shantinagar, and Mohammad Iqbal (28) from Kapu Malar.
The fifth accused is currently absconding, and it is suspected that he might be injured during the sword attack. The police are actively investigating to locate him. Mohammad Naushad, the brother-in-law of Ilyas’s wife, who witnessed the murder of Ilyas, is believed to be the mastermind behind Sameer’s killing.
Naushad has a criminal history, with previous cases of abduction, violation of the NDPS Act, and attempted murder registered against him in Surathkal and Sakleshpur police stations. Tanveer also has cases of cattle theft and attempted robbery registered against him at Bajpe police station.
The arrested suspects have been presented before the court.
