Bantwal: Tahsildar urges students to embrace visionary thoughts of Devaraj Urs

Bantwal, Aug 20: Bantwal Tahsildar Archana Bhat emphasized that students should study the visionary thoughts of Devaraj Urs and incorporate them into their lives.

She was presiding over the 109th birth anniversary celebration of Devaraj Urs held on Tuesday at the Taluk Panchayat SJSRY Hall in BC Road. The event was organized by the taluk panchayat, municipality, and the Department of Backward Classes Welfare.

Archana Bhat highlighted that the youth are the greatest asset of the country. She encouraged the young generation to understand this and to think and act for the nation's welfare. She expressed hope that the ideals set by Devaraj Urs would inspire everyone.

The event was inaugurated by Sachin Kumar, the Executive Officer of Bantwal Taluk Panchayat. He stated that Devaraj Urs demonstrated that social reform could be achieved through politics. He led significant social transformations during his two terms as chief minister, and students should imbibe his principles.

Taluk panchayat extension officer Narasimha Murthy, hostel supervisors Pushpalatha, Bhavani, Arun, Ambujakshi, and Vishwanath were present on the dais.

District officer of the Department of Backward Classes, Bindhya Naik, delivered the welcome address and expressed her gratitude.

On this occasion, students from hostels who scored high marks in SSLC and PUC exams were honored. Prizes were also distributed to winners of various competitions held in connection with Devaraj Urs's birth anniversary.

The event was coordinated by Bhavani, the warden of the Vamadapadavu hostel, with assistance from Deepa and Jeevita.
