Mangaluru/Udupi, Aug 21: The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for August 21, anticipating heavy rainfall along the coastal regions of Karnataka.

On Tuesday, rainfall intensity was relatively low in Dakshina Kannada district, with moderate rain reported in some areas. Similarly, Udupi district experienced a decrease in rainfall, with only light showers occurring in certain parts amid a mix of sunny and cloudy weather.

Late Monday night, light rain was recorded in areas such as Kundapura, Byndoor, Brahmavar, Udupi, and Hebri in Karkala. Apart from these sporadic showers, the weather remained predominantly warm and cloudy.

In Mangaluru, the maximum temperature recorded was 30.9°C, which is 1.8°C higher than the average, while the minimum temperature was 24.7°C, marking a 1.6°C increase above the normal.

    Yellow alert or red alert! There is not a drop of rain. The Indian Met Department is there just to put out some stories and enjoy their salary from our tax money.
