Sullia, Aug 26: A heart-wrenching scene unfolded at Paichaar Junction on Sunday as several dogs mourned the death of another dog that was run over by a vehicle.

Four to five dogs regularly roam around Paichaar Junction on the Mani-Mysuru highway. Tragically, one of them was struck by a bus and died. The other dogs gathered around the carcass, wailing loudly.

A video of the incident went viral on social media.

Later, the municipality workers removed the carcass.

This heartbreaking moment serves as a poignant reminder of the deep emotional connections animals form and the sorrow they experience, mirroring the pain of loss that we, too, feel as humans. The condition of street dogs is truly pathetic, and it’s disheartening to see that no significant action has been taken by our government for their welfare. These animals deserve our compassion and care, yet they are often left to suffer without adequate food, shelter, or medical attention. It's time for authorities to prioritize the welfare of street dogs and implement measures to protect and support them.
