Udupi, Aug 28: In a unique and thought-provoking street performance, artist Ajay Kurkalu and his team, Smart Art, delivered a powerful message about the neglect of the Malpe-Adi Udupi road. The performance, which took place on the Karavali-Malpe road, aimed to raise awareness about the poor road conditions.

The team, dressed as skeletons and Yamaraj, roamed the streets, engaging with the public and warning them about the potential consequences. The dramatic costumes and vivid portrayal of death served as a stark reminder to onlookers of the risks involved in careless driving.

They also highlighted the poor road conditions and the government's lack of action in improving them, despite the high number of accidents reported in the area. The performers voiced the concerns of many citizens, who believe that both the government and the public share responsibility for ensuring safer roads.

Spectators praised the street performance as a creative and impactful method of spreading awareness. Many expressed that the performance was an excellent way to draw attention to the critical issues of road safety and traffic management. Additionally, local residents demanded the establishment of a proper bus stand in the area, as the lack of one currently causes buses to stop unsafely, creating further dangers for both students and other vehicles.
