Mangaluru: Possibility of intensified rain - Orange alert issued from Aug 29-31

Mangaluru, Aug 29: The coastal region may experience intensified rainfall, as the weather department has issued an orange alert from August 29 to 31.

Moderate rain showers were recorded in Dakshina Kannada district on Wednesday. Mangaluru city experienced rain in the afternoon and evening, with cloudy weather prevailing for most of the day.

Bantwal, Sullia, and Kadaba districts also received moderate rains. Various parts of Beltangady and Puttur experienced heavy rains on Wednesday afternoon.

Udupi received moderate rain on Wednesday. Areas such as Karkala, Byndoor, Kundapur, Udupi, Kaup, Hebri, and Brahmavar experienced intermittent showers. Udupi and Manipal received heavy rainfall during the evening and night, accompanied by high wind velocity. Udupi, Manipal, and Malpe experienced significant rainfall late Tuesday night.
