Mangaluru, Aug 29: A private bus lost control and collided with an autorickshaw, a car, and a bike near Hampankatta in the city on Thursday afternoon after the driver fainted due to high blood pressure. Three people sustained injuries in the accident, but fortunately, no serious injuries were reported.

The injured individuals have been identified as Usman, Ramla, and their son Mohammad Najal, residents of Jeppu Bappal.

Usman, along with his wife and son, had come to Mangaluru for shopping in an autorickshaw. As the PTC bus was heading towards the State Bank from Balmatta, the driver suddenly experienced dizziness due to high blood pressure and collapsed. As a result, the bus lost control and hit a parked autorickshaw, car, and bike on the roadside.

The entire incident was captured on a CCTV camera at a nearby shop. The impact of the collision left the autorickshaw completely mangled, reflecting the severity of the chain accident. Fortunately, the three occupants of the autorickshaw sustained only minor injuries and were discharged after treatment. Kadri traffic police visited the spot, conducted an investigation, and registered a case.

Bus drivers are under too much pressure to reach their destination on time, which is causing them to drive irresponsibly these days and constant honking on the front vehicles, which contributes to noise pollution. I have seen conductors on a regular basis, notifying the opposing officer of their current bus point. Why this objective is given to them. How come they can't run the bus without giving it a target? Both blood pressure and accident rates will drop. Kindly have this checked out by authorities.

The diseases of blood pressure and dizziness have increased a lot these days, but if the bus driver had driven the bus slowly, the rickshaw wouldn’t have been damaged so much and people wouldn’t have been injured. Anyway, at least no one lost their life.
