Davanagere, Sep 2: Fourth day’s Novena at Our Lady of Health, Minor Basilica, Diocese of Shimoga, began with rosary, procession and Novena led by Rector & parish priest Fr George K A

Then Fr Stephen Maxi Albuquerque, chancellor of the Diocese of Shimoga and parish priest of Good Shepherd Church, Gopala, Shivamogga offered Holy Eucharist. Fr Lancy Barthalomeo D'Souza, parish priest of Mary Immaculate Church, New Town, Bhadravati, Shivamogga, preached the sermon.

Theme of the day was ‘Mother Mary is the role model of the couples’. He narrated the role of couples in building up of the family. He said the qe should follow the example of Mother Mary who did the will of God by obeying the word of God.

Fr Richard Mascarenhas SJ, Fr George K A, Fr Alvin Stanislaus, Fr Eric Mathias SJ and other priests concelebrated the Holy Eucharist.

Rector of the Basilica together with the faithful felicitated Fr Stephen Maxi Albuquerque and Fr Lancy D'Souza as they celebrated their sacerdotal silver jubilee this year.

After the mass Fr Stephen Maxi Albuquerque led the benediction and priests prayed over the pilgrims.
