22nd anniversary of Sannyas initiation, land donation ceremony held at Kondevooru ashram

Mumbai, (RBI), Sep 02: The 22nd annual celebration of the Peetha Pratishtha Day and the Sannyas initiation of Paramapujya Shri Shri Yogananda Saraswati Swamiji was held on September 1 at the Nityananda Yogashrama Kondevooru Math.

The event featured religious ceremonies, including the Vishnu Sahasranama Homa and a collective Shri Satyanarayana Puja. In his blessing speech, Paramapujya Shri Shri Yogananda Saraswati Swamiji praised those who have supported the Math's activities over the past 22 years, acknowledging the tireless contributions of dedicated volunteers.

Under the presidency of Sadashiva Shetty Kulyur Kanyana, the event was attended by union minister Shripad Yesso Naik and Rajya Sabha member K Narayana of Span Print, Bengaluru. They wholeheartedly applauded the disciplined religious and social activities conducted by the Math. Other notable guests included CAMPCO president Kishore Kumar Kodgi, land donor Kiran Kumar Bhandari, former MLC Monappa Bhandari, Shashidhar Shetty Gramachavadi, Vishwanathan Vengare from Muscat, and Mangaluru entrepreneur A J Shekhar, all of whom conveyed their best wishes.

On this occasion, as part of the Ashram's "Ashraya" project, land was donated to ten poor families who do not own any land. Kiran Bhandary from Karangalpady, Mangaluru, generously donated a deed for 1 acre and 19 cents of land to Swamiji. The Bhandari couple was also honored for their service during the event. The ceremony, which began with Vedic chanting by students from Shankar Veda Vidya Gurukul of Darbhethadka, was welcomed by Dr Jayaprakash Narayan Tottethodi and concluded with a vote of thanks from Monappa Bhandary. Dinkar Hosangadi and Ashok Badoor compered the event.
