Bantwal: Foundation stone laid for new shrine at Kumdelo Shri Nagabrahma Temple

Bantwal, Sep 5: The foundation stone-laying ceremony for the new Shri Kordabbu stone shrine at the Kumdelo Shri Nagabrahma Temple was held on Thursday, September 5.

The event was inaugurated by former minister B Ramanath Rai, who lit the ceremonial lamp and addressed the gathering. He stated that religious events in the undivided Dakshina Kannada district are unique and cannot be replicated in any other district, emphasising the distinct cultural heritage of the region.

Former MP Nalin Kumar Kateel also spoke, remarking, "Our district is renowned for worship both among humans and deities represented in stone. The region’s reputation for showcasing divine power is a testament to the cultural richness of our Tulu Nadu."

The event was attended by several distinguished guests, including District BJP president Satish Kumpla, building contractors Dr Sanjeev Dandekeri and Nettarakereguttu Narayana Holla, Dharmasthala rural development project officer Balakrishna, and notable figures such as Rajashekhar Chowta, K P Shetty, and Bhuvanesh Patchingadka.

Also present were K Krishna Kumar Poonja from the Seva Anjali Trust, Tumbegeettu Chandraprakash Shetty, and Construction Committee president Umesh Saliyan Benjanapadavu. administrators Bhaskar Chowta, Bharat Kumdelo, Manoj Acharya, Ravindra Kambli, Damodara Nettarakere, Jagannath Chowta, Umesh Shetti Barke, and Ganesh Suvarna were also in attendance.

The welcome address was delivered by Taranath Kottari, with Rajesh Kulal managing the event and Harikrishna K Pandit delivering the vote of thanks.
