Mangaluru: Promoting communal harmony - Christians provide paddy saplings for Ganesh Chaturthi

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (MS)

Mangaluru, Sep 7: Herbert D’Souza from Jappinamogaru Kadekar has been distributing paddy saplings for free during the Chauti festival for the past 12 years. This year, he has provided paddy saplings to more than 20 temples, setting an example of communal harmony.

Herbert also distributes paddy saplings for the Catholic Harvest festival, celebrated on September 8 each year.

Additionally, he donates the saplings to temples, supplying over 20 temples in Dakshina Kannada district this year alone.

Notably, Herbert grows paddy on his 40-cent plot of land and never keeps any for himself, donating the entire crop to churches and temples.

Herbert D'Souza if one of a kind. Gracious, generous and giant of a man. Herbert is like a candle which will glow even in darkness. His selfless act during the Chauti festival for the past 12 years is surely an example for every other human to emulate. This year he has provided paddy saplings to more than 20 temples. What a fine noble deed by Herbert. May many like Herbert take birth and resurrect our lives. There are good people in every community without doubt. Be it a Herbert, Harish or a Haider they are all there to support one another without any bias. They should come forward and demolish those with hatred and show the world that there is love and life in every individual. CONGRATS HERBERT D'SOUZA - GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY.

"Communal harmony is a specialty of this country, and it is our duty to maintain it. Unfortunately, in recent years, communal harmony has been getting eroded like termites eating away at it.”
