Mangaluru: Sporadic intense rains hit Dakshina Kannada

Mangaluru, Sep 10: Various parts of Dakshina Kannada (DK) experienced sporadic rains and cloudy weather on Monday, with occasional periods of sunshine. The intensity of rain increased in the evening and night, causing slight inconvenience to the immersion of Ganesha idols. A yellow alert has been issued for the coastal region on Tuesday and Wednesday, with similar weather patterns expected to continue. The maximum temperature recorded in Mangaluru was 28.9°C, and the minimum was 24.5°C.

In Sullia, moderate rain persisted throughout Monday, with sporadic heavy downpours. Areas including Sullia City, Jalsoor, Mandekolu, Bellare, Panja, Guthigaru, Arantodu, Sampaje, Kollamogru, Subramanya, Balpa, Edamangala, and Bilinele received moderate to heavy rains throughout the day.

Udupi also witnessed intermittent rains on Monday across the district, including Udupi, Byndoor, Karkala, Kundapur, Hebri, and Kaup, which experienced intense showers amid predominantly cloudy skies. Udupi and Manipal had already seen heavy rainfall late Sunday night.
