Mangaluru: St Agnes School (CBSE) holds Life Skills Orientation for grades 6 to 9 students

Mangaluru, Sep 11: In a society where education stands as the cornerstone of future achievements, St Agnes School (CBSE) orchestrated a comprehensive Life Skills Orientation for students in Grades 6 to 9 on August 22 and 23. The event took place at the St Agnes PU College auditorium and was spearheaded by the esteemed faculty of St Agnes PU College, guided by Sr Janet Sequeira AC, the vice principal, St Agnes PU College. The primary objective of this initiative was to furnish students with indispensable life skills to confidently confront the challenges that lie ahead.

The session commenced with a prayer led by Shobha D’Souza, the school counsellor, who delivered an inspiring discourse on leadership. Her words encouraged students to heed their inner voice and embrace the role of democratic leaders in their daily lives. She emphasized that each individual possesses the capacity to lead and make a positive difference in the lives of others. 

Chaithanya underscored the significance of exercise, meditation, and resilience-building, especially tailored to women, stressing the importance of fostering physical and emotional fortitude.

In a separate session, Sr Janet Sequeira delved into self-awareness, urging students to acknowledge that genuine greatness stems from perseverance, discipline, and inner fortitude, transcending mere superficial qualities.

Ashwin and Mathew presented enlightening session on stress management and leadership development, encouraging students to explore their inner strengths and build the confidence needed for effective leadership. At the same time,  Shailaja and Preema highlighted the significance of time management through engaging stories and riddles, reminding students that time, much like a flowing river, is relentless and stressing the importance of planning ahead. Likhita's session on values emphasized their essential role in daily life, while Shobha wrapped up the event by focusing on health and hygiene, highlighting the importance of personal care for a fulfilling life.

The students participated in interactive discussions, creative activities, and action songs, enhancing the event with enriching experiences. This comprehensive method of life skills development encouraged self-reflection and cultivated a positive atmosphere, playing a significant role in the students' personal development and overall well-being. The session was celebrated as a resounding success, leaving a lasting impression on everyone involved and setting a new standard for holistic education.
