Mangaluru: ICYM Valencia unit hosts workshop on Artificial Intelligence

Mangaluru, Sep 16: The Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) Valencia unit organised a workshop titled ‘Next Gen AI’ for parishioners on September 15 in the conference hall.

The workshop featured Fr Anil Ivan Fernandes, director of Canara Communication Mangaluru and a Google-certified AI coach, as the resource person. During the session, Fr Anil provided an introduction to Artificial Intelligence (AI), highlighting its application in content creation, useful tools for daily life, ethical considerations, and emerging technologies.

ICYM Valencia unit president Clive Rego welcomed the gathering and introduced the speaker, while secretary Neha D’Souza proposed the vote of thanks. 45 parishioners participated, gaining valuable insights into the rapidly evolving world of AI.

Melroy Fernandes shared his experience, saying, "AI is a buzzword we hear everywhere, but most people don't really know how to use it effectively. Today, we learned the true practical applications of AI, and from now on, it will be genuinely useful in our daily work. Fr Anil introduced us to the exact tools we need to unlock AI's potential for everyday tasks."

Renita Tellis, one of the participants, shared her experience, stating, "We often hear about the common uses of AI, but thanks to Fr Anil, we now have a clearer understanding of its key applications. Today, we learned the right way to utilize AI effectively, and the process has become much simpler now achievable with just a single click."

The event was well received, with participants appreciating the relevance of AI in today's digital landscape.
