Kundapur: Rider succumbs to injuries in two-bike collision

Kundapur, Sep 30: A tragic accident occurred on Saturday night when two bikes collided in front of Nagu Palace, Hangaluru, resulting in the death of one rider on the spot. It has now been reported that the injured rider of the bullet bike also succumbed to his injuries on Sunday.

The accident took place around 11 pm on Saturday. Shashank Mogaveera (22), son of painter Venkatesh and a resident of Barekattu Balehitlu, died instantly at the scene. Punit, the rider of the bullet bike, who was severely injured, passed away on Sunday night at KMC Hospital in Manipal.

Punit, originally from Hassan, was unmarried and had been running Aiyengar’s Bakery in Kandlur for the past 12 years. He lived with his mother, who was also seriously injured in the accident and is currently receiving treatment in the ICU at KMC Manipal.

Frequent accidents have been reported in the Hangaluru area, which has now become a known accident zone. The public has urged the Kundapur traffic police to take necessary steps to prevent further accidents and loss of life.
