Puttur: Miscreants vandalise Amar Jawan Jyoti memorial near Kille Grounds

Puttur, Oct 6: Miscreants vandalised the Amar Jawan Jyoti near Kille Grounds, which is recognised as the only war memorial for martyred soldiers in South India.

The lock on the gas cylinder cap used for lighting the lamp at the memorial has been damaged. The cap was found opened and struck against the back wall, causing additional damage to the structure.

A complaint has been lodged at the city police station regarding the incident. This is not the first time the memorial has been targeted; it has experienced damage on a previous occasion as well.
