Kasargod, Oct 10: The body of a contractor, who had gone missing from Uppala, was found in the Kumble Shiriya river on Thursday, October 10 in the afternoon.

The deceased has been identified as Sharif (32) from Mannanguli. His body was discovered near the river bank in a forest area close to the Shiriya police station.

Sharif had left home on a scooter on Tuesday evening and had been missing since then. His scooter was found near the Shiriya bridge on Wednesday.

When his family tried to call his mobile, it was switched off, prompting his father, Ibrahim, to file a complaint with a police station in Mangaluru. This led to a search operation for Sharif.

Unfortunately, his body was found on Thursday afternoon, but the exact cause of death is still unclear.
