Mangaluru: New Mangala College of Nursing observes Mental Health Day

Mangaluru, Oct 16: The department of mental health nursing at New Mangala College of Nursing, in collaboration with the staff development cell, observed World Mental Health Day on October 15. The theme of this year is 'It's Time to Prioritize Mental Health in the Workplace', highlighted the importance of addressing mental well-being in professional settings.

The chief guest Dr Chandrashekhar R, assistant professor and researcher from the department of pharmacology at AJ Institute of medical sciences and research centre, led the informative session. The discussion focused on strategies to enhance key factors influencing employee and employer mental health within organizations and effective techniques to mitigate workplace stress.

The programme was honoured by the presence of Prof Pratijna Suhasini GR, dean, MCAHS and MPMS, and Prof Subramanya Nayak, principal, NMCON and MSON. Neha KJ hosted the event, while Divyashree delivered the welcome address and Akshitha presented the vote of thanks. Approximately 75 delegates attended the session, fostering meaningful dialogue and expertise sharing. This event underscored the significance of prioritizing mental health in the workplace, promoting a supportive environment for employees and employers alike.
