Bengaluru, Oct 21: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Monday said that law and order situation, development, economy and GDP were all inter-linked and asked the police to do their best in maintaining peace.
Addressing the Police Commemoration Day celebrations in Bengaluru, he said capital inflow and investment improves if the State’s law and order situation was in good shape, which in turn helps in creation of more jobs and boosts development. All these steps taken together lead to improvement in the per capita income of the people and gives a fillip to growth in gross domestic product (GDP).
Siddaramaiah said the Congress Government has been giving the highest priority for improving the lot of policemen and enable them to function independently in a free and fearless manner to help the citizen.
As many as 100 new police stations were being established in the State at a cost of Rs 200 crore, he said pointing out that the State Government has provided an outlay of Rs 2,000 crore for construction of 10,000 police houses in 2025, he said.
The Chief Minister announced the opening of seven public schools in 7 different prominent locations for the benefit of children of policemen.
