Abu Dhabi shuts down Safari Plaza Restaurant over repeated food safety violations

Daijiworld Media Network – Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi, Jun 26: The Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) has ordered the temporary closure of Safari Plaza Restaurant on Al Muroor Street after inspectors found repeated food safety violations that posed a risk to public health.

According to ADAFSA, the restaurant, operating under trade licence number CN-1010084, was administratively shut down under the provisions of Law No. 2 of 2008 governing food establishments in the emirate.

The authority said inspection reports revealed that the restaurant had repeatedly failed to comply with mandatory food safety standards and had not taken adequate corrective measures despite being issued previous warnings and given opportunities to rectify the violations.

Officials said the closure was necessary to safeguard public health and ensure that food served to consumers meets the emirate's prescribed hygiene and safety standards.

ADAFSA clarified that the restaurant will remain closed until it fully addresses all identified violations, complies with food safety requirements and receives official approval to resume operations.

The authority said the action is part of its ongoing drive to strengthen food safety monitoring across Abu Dhabi through regular inspections of restaurants and other food establishments.

Residents have also been urged to report suspected food safety violations or concerns regarding food products through the Abu Dhabi Government's toll-free helpline, 800555.
