New Delhi, Dec 5: Star Bollywood couple Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao are on cloud nine. The couple are now proud parents of a baby boy.
The baby was born through IVF to a surrogate mother at a private clinic in Mumbai on Monday December 1.
"It gives us the greatest joy to share with you the good news of the birth of our baby boy. This baby is especially dear to us because he was born to us after a long wait and some difficulty," said Aamir.
This is Aamir's third child, and the first for Kiran. Aamir's son Junaid and daughter Ira were born to his first wife Reena, who he divorced in 2002.
Kiran had suffered a miscarriage in 2009, and then decided to go for IVF through surrogacy.
The two met on the sets of 'Lagaan', where Kiran was assistant director, and married in 2005.
"We feel very grateful to the Almighty that all has gone well. We are humbled by the greatness of god, the miracles of science, and the kindness and love of our families and friends in being there for us while respecting our privacy," said Aamir.
