Mangaluru, Oct 28: Carmel School, CBSE, Kotekar hosted an insightful seminar titled "Communication and Phonetics" on October 26, aimed at enhancing teachers' communication and phonetic skills. The seminar was led by Dr Sr M Jeswina AC, an expert in linguistics, who shared her expertise in effective communication techniques.

In her presentation, Dr Sr Jeswina emphasized the importance of correct pronunciation and introduced practical techniques for improving spoken clarity. She explained that effective communication operates through two primary modes: speech and writing, both essential for meaningful interaction. Sister introduced phonetics as a critical branch of linguistics focused on the study of speech sounds, covering aspects of production, transmission, and reception. She provided an engaging explanation of how body parts like the tongue, lips, and vocal cords play a vital role in producing speech sounds, making the science of phonetics more relatable and accessible for teachers.

The seminar concluded with a vote of thanks by Tr Vanisha, who expressed deep appreciation for Dr Sr Jeswina's insightful guidance and acknowledged the school administration for its support in organizing this enriching event. The session left teachers with a stronger foundation in communication techniques and phonetic principles, equipping them with skills to enhance interactions with students and colleagues.

Tr Priyanka introduced the resource person as Roopa, who seamlessly coordinated the event, served as the master of ceremony for the day.
