Kasargod, Nov 3: A youth who was severely injured in the Veerakav Daivastana firecracker tragedy succumbed to his injuries on Saturday, November 2.

C Sandeep (38), son of Kunhirama and Savithri, a resident of Choyyamkota Kinavoor and an auto driver by profession, is the deceased. He is survived by his wife and two daughters.

The firecrackers were stocked for the Kaliataam festival at Veerakav Daivastana. The Theyyam of Moovalankuli Chamundi was scheduled to be held on Tuesday. However, as the Vellattam began in the early hours of Tuesday, a spark from a firecracker fell on the shed where the fireworks were stored, causing a massive explosion.

Very sad. Storing firecrackers is also a very difficult task, just one spark can burn the entire area to ashes.
