Road restrictions on Nov 10 for ‘Niveus Mangaluru Marathon’ with over 5000 participants expected

Mangaluru, Nov 6: The Mangalore Runners Club has organized the "Niveus Mangaluru Marathon 2024," on Sunday, November 10 from 4 am to 10 am, where over 5000 athletes are expected to participate. The marathon will commence from Mangala Stadium, passing through various city landmarks, including Narayana Guru Circle (Ladyhill), Chilimbi, Urwa Store, Kottara Chowki, Kodikal Cross, Kuloor, and KIOCL Junction. Runners will proceed along the NMPT Service Road, turn at the Dixie Cross towards Panambur Beach Road, and return via Dixie Cross, KIOCL Junction, and end at Tannirbavi Beach before concluding at Mangala Stadium via Kottara Chowki and Ladyhill.

In this regard, the city administration has announced temporary road closures and alternative routes for vehicle movement.

Details of restricted roads:

  1. Manngudde to Narayana Guru Circle (Ladyhill) – All types of vehicle movement and parking are prohibited.
  2. Urwa Market to Narayana Guru Circle (Ladyhill) – All types of vehicle movement and parking are prohibited.
  3. KSRTC to Narayana Guru Circle via Lalbagh – Vehicle movement is prohibited.
  4. Narayana Guru Circle (Ladyhill) to Kottara Chowki – No vehicle movement or parking allowed.
  5. Kottara Chowki to Kodikal Cross Service Road – All types of vehicle movement and parking are prohibited.
  6. Kodikal Cross to Kuloor New Bridge – Vehicle movement and parking are prohibited.
  7. Tannirbavi Beach Road to Tannirbavi Beach – All vehicle movement and parking are prohibited.
  8. Left Side Access Roads on the Marathon Route – Entry of vehicles onto the main marathon route from side roads is prohibited.

Alternative routes for traffic:

  1. From PVS to Narayana Guru Circle – Vehicles should use the Lalbagh-KSRTC route.
  2. From Kudroli, Mannagudde, and Urwa Market to Narayana Guru Circle – Vehicles should use the Mannagudde-Ballalbagh/Nehru Avenue Road-Lalbagh-KSRTC route.
  3. From KSRTC to Udupi – Vehicles should travel via Bijai-Kapikad-Kuntikan route.
  4. From KPT/Kuntikan to Udupi – Vehicles should turn right at Kodikal Cross flyover and travel along the one-way road to Kuloor, then proceed via the new Kuloor Bridge to KIOCL Junction.
  5. Vehicles from Kavoor-Panjimogaru towards Udupi – Travel through the Indian Oil Petrol Pump Service Road.
  6. From Ashok Nagar, Shediguri, Dambel, and Sultan Battery – Vehicles should use the Urwa Market and Mannagudde route.

The public is kindly requested to cooperate for the smooth conduct of this large-scale event, which will see participation from thousands of athletes and sports enthusiasts.
