Massive awareness walk on World Diabetes Day in Udupi by Adarsh Hospital on Nov 10

Udupi, Nov 8: In observance of World Diabetes Day, a massive diabetes awareness walk will be organized on November 10, at 8:30 am by Adarsha Hospital, Udupi, in collaboration with Adarsha Charitable Trust (R), Adarsha Group of Institutions, Udupi district health and family welfare department, District Hospital Udupi, District Survey Unit (NCD Division), IMA Udupi, API Udupi, and Lions District 317C Udupi.

The walk will commence from the District Hospital, Ajjarkad premises with a ceremonial lamp-lighting inauguration. From there, the procession will follow a route through Jodukatte, Diana Circle, and KM Road, finally concluding at Adarsha Hospital.

The event will be attended by local officials, health department authorities, and other dignitaries. Nursing college students will participate, providing valuable insights into diabetes management through presentations, informational displays, skits, and costume demonstrations.

In addition, free blood sugar testing will be available at designated locations along the route. The walk expects around 2,000 participants, and the public is encouraged to join and learn more about diabetes prevention and management. Dr GS Chandrashekhar, medical director of Adarsha Hospital, emphasized the importance of public participation to raise awareness about diabetes and its impact.
