Lombard Memorial Group of Institutions organizes various activities on World Diabetes Day

Udupi, Nov 10: On account of World Diabetes Day 2024, Lombard Memorial Group of Institutions, Academy of Allied Health Sciences and Paramedical College organized expert talk and various competitions of diabetes.

The event included expert talk by Dr Shruthi Ballal, diabetologist.

The event was inaugurated by Dr Shruthi Ballal. Dr Narayana Peralaya, HoD of laboratory and vice principal of Paramedical College, Dr Roshan Pais, principal, Lombard Academy of Allied Health Sciences and Paramedical College, Dr Suja Karkada and and Veena Menezes, principals, School of Nursing, Dr Ganesh Kamath, senior and chief medical officer and others were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Narayana Peralaya said, "Every year November 14 is noted as World Diabetes Day. Entire November month is dedicated to spreading awareness on diabetes. It is a very important aspect of healthcare. Laboratory plays a pivotal role in identifying diabetes and its treatment. There is an acute need to spread awareness on diabetes prevention and care in today's world."

Poster presentation on diabetes prevention and management and placard slogan writing competition on diabetes and well-being was held on the occasion. A skit by BSc MLT and premedical students of Lombard group of institutions attracted the gathering.
