Karkala, Nov 18: Senior Congress leader D R Raju from Karkala passed away late on Sunday, November 17.

D R Raju was an active and prominent figure in the Congress party. He was among the leading aspirants to contest from Karkala in the recent Vidhana Sabha elections.

He also served as the vice president of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Backward Classes Wing and was the president of Karkala Billava Sangha.

Raju was actively involved in religious, educational, and social activities.
