Puttur, Nov 19: Students of St Philomena PU College, showcased their exceptional swimming skills at the 4th national finswimming championship organized by the Underwater Sports Federation of India (USFI) at Dr Syama Prasad Mookherjee Swimming Pool Complex, New Delhi from September 14 to 17.
The swimmers were trained by Partha Varanashi, Niroop G R, Deekshith Rao and Rohith Prakash. They were guided by Dr Elias Pinto and Rajesh Moolya, physical education directors, St Philomena PU College, Puttur.
The correspondent, Fr Lawrence Mascarenhas, Mai De Deus Educational Institutions and the principal, Fr Ashok Rayan Crasta congratulated the following students:
Diganth V S (I PCMC 'E') won 1 gold medal in BI - FINS 50M (NMR) silver medal in BI - FINS and bronze medal in APNEA 50M. He set a new record in 50M BI - FINS in men's category.
Anvith Rai Barike (I PCME 'E') won 3 gold medals in MONO - FIN 50M with a record of 23.26, 100 MONO- FIN with a record of 53.01 and 200 M MONO - FIN with a record of 2.10.1 bronze medal in 50 M BI - FIN with a record of 22.82. With this victory he bagged the individual championship in men's category.
R Aman Raj (I PCME 'E') won 2 gold medals in BI - FINS 100M and 200M BI - FINS. 2 silver medals in 50M APNEA and 50M BI- FINS.
