New Delhi, Jun 7: The Indian government has imposed anti-dumping duties on imports of Vitamin-A Palmitate and insoluble sulphur from China, Japan, Switzerland, and the European Union to protect local manufacturers from underpriced imports that harm domestic industry.
The Ministry of Finance issued the notification on June 6, stating that the duties will remain in force for five years, unless reviewed or revoked earlier.
The move follows an investigation by the Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR), which found that imported Vitamin-A Palmitate was being sold below its normal value, causing material injury to Indian producers.

Vitamin-A Palmitate is widely used in pharmaceuticals, food, and cosmetics, while insoluble sulphur is a critical additive in the rubber industry, especially for tyre manufacturing. Both remain largely import-dependent in India.
The anti-dumping duties, effective immediately and payable in Indian rupees, are designed to prevent unfair trade practices and support local manufacturers.
Key Duties Imposed:
?? Vitamin-A Palmitate:
• Chinese exporters (except Shangyu NHU BioChem): $20.87/kg
• Shangyu NHU BioChem (China): $14.95/kg
• DSM Nutritional Products (Switzerland): $0.87/kg
• Other Swiss exporters: $8.20/kg
• EU exporters: $11.09/kg
?? Insoluble Sulphur:
• Chinese exporters: $307/MT
• Shikoku Chemicals (Japan): $259/MT
• Other Japanese exporters: $358/MT
The duties will ensure a level playing field for Indian manufacturers against cheap imports from these countries.
