Mangaluru, Dec 14: As part of the World Disabled Day and outreach programme, 30 students from Class 7 A, B, and C of Carmel School, Mangaluru, accompanied by three teachers, visited St Agnes Special School. The visit was organized to foster awareness, empathy, and compassion among our students while encouraging them to appreciate the diversity and resilience of individuals with special needs.
The day began with a warm and heartfelt welcome by Sister Shruti, the principal of St Agnes Special School. She introduced the students and teachers to the school’s mission, its history, and the unique challenges and triumphs of the children studying there. Her inspiring words set the tone for the day and motivated our students to interact meaningfully with the children.
The students enthusiastically participated in a variety of activities designed to engage and entertain the children. The programme included vibrant singing, energetic dancing, and exciting games, which created an atmosphere of joy and laughter. The children at St Agnes Special School showcased their incredible talents, leaving everyone in awe of their spirit and creativity.
As a gesture of love and support, the students handed over a cash contribution collected by the school. The donation symbolized their commitment to supporting the noble work done by St Agnes Special School.
