Puttur, Dec 21: Suresh Babu (50) from Hallingeri, Kokkada in the taluk, ended his life by consuming poison in a forest area near Periyashanti on Tuesday December 20. Babu, who owned a plywood business in Nelyady, reportedly was facing financial crisis due to incessant losses.
After arriving at Periyashanti on Tuesday morning, he called his wife over phone, and informed her that he was about to commit suicide. By the time his wife rushed to the spot along with friends and relatives, Babu had died, and his body was found lying there. The wife of Babu, who fell sick at this development, was admitted to a hospital here.
The daughter of the couple, who was attending college, had also consumed poison at home two years ago, and breathed her last, it is gathered.
