Karkala: GSB Swabhimana Samavesha Priliminary Meeting

Karkala, Dec 23: The preliminary meeting connected with ‘Udupi District Gowda Saraswat Brahmin Samaj Swabhimana Jagruti Samavesha-2012’ proposed to be organized on January 1 at Koteshwar near Kundapur, as well as inaugural of the publicity campaign related to this convention, were organized on the night of Wednesday December 21 at the Rajangana of Lord Venkataramana Temple here.

Managing trustee of the temple, Jayaram Prabhu, released the invitation and publicity campaign of the convention, as a token of inauguration of publicity campaign. He wished that the convention, planned to be held with a view to uphold the dignity and self-respect of the members of the GSB community, will succeed in its purpose of uniting the GSB members, and achieve overall progress of the community.

Working president of the convention, Dakkerbal Gopalakrishna Prabhu, vice president, Vedavyasa Acharya Gangolli, GSB Welfare Forum Udupi district president, and Dr B Damodar Pai, and general secretary, Nada Satish Nayak, provided details about the convention and the publicity campaign relating to it.

Veteran local GSB leader, Bola Prabhakar Kamath, received the emblem flag of the convention to signify beginning of the campaign in the taluk. He said that the coming convention will show a way to solve burning problems the community is faced with at present.

Vedamurty Ravindra Bhat, H Damodar Prabhu, Suvarna Nayak of Hitaishi Balaga, GSB Mahila Mandali president, Lalita R Bhat, and president of Mahila Bhajana Mandali, Sharada Prabhu, were present.

Convener of the convention, R Vivekananda Shenoy, delivered introductory address, Organizing secretary, Sanoor Narasimha Kamath, presented the programme.
