Saudi Konkan Youngsters Dammam organises silver jubilee celebration

Dammam, Dec 27: The 25th jubilee celebration of Saudi Konkan Youngsters (SKY) was a monumental event, marking a significant milestone in the organization's history.

The celebrations took place at Novotel, Dammam bringing together a wide range of Konkani speaking and other individuals from all walks of life.

Key Highlights:

The event kicked off with a prayer and the traditional lighting of the lamp was done by the chief guest Joseph Mathias - Merit Freight LLC Dubai, and Joey Fernandes, Mangaluru.

Featuring welcome note by Alwyn Fernandes – president SKY, Anil Tauro reflected on the achievements of the past 25 years along with the report and a brief history of the organization. Steevan Rodrigues – vice president, SKY expressed gratitude to all who contributed to the success of the programme and organization.

A series of activities were organized to celebrate the occasion, including cultural performances from Saudi Arabian Mangalorean artists and the main attraction of the day was the 18th Stan Nite by Stany Mendonca – composer & singer, comedians Ronald Lobo and Vinod Barboza from UK. Versatile singers from Saudi Arabia and other GCC countries: Joseph Mathias Dubai, Teena D’Souza Bahrain, Ralph D’Souza & Sony Menezes Riyadh, Eric D’Sa Riyadh, Johnson Crasta Jubail, Sandeep Crasta Jubail, Lancy Lasrado Jubail, Babitha Rodrigues Jubail, Sharell Lewis Dammam, Benedicta D’Souza Dammam, and Ashlyn Noronha Dammam gave a melodious & lively performance in this event.

This programme was hosted and moderated by renowned anchors Joseph Sequeira and Vinod Barboza from Manchester, UK.

A spectacular buffet dinner with a number of continental dishes complimented with a variety of salads, desserts and drinks open to all the guests.

One of the most memorable aspects of the Jubilee was the recognition of outstanding individuals, students and sponsors who have made significant contributions over the years.

Francis D’Souza was felicitated for his remarkable and outstanding social work, unwavering support to the Indian community residing in the kingdom as well as in India

Also, felicitation of one of the founder members of SKY, Ronald Olivera who came from Dubai to attend the programme was done on the occasion.

A limited-edition Souvenir – 'Reventhli Taaran' was produced and released to mark the occasion under the editorship of Benedicta D’Souza, and a time capsule was created to preserve memories for future generations.

The celebrations concluded with the traditional dance- Baila, attracting all the invitees and guests on the dance floor. A raffle draw was conducted with the distribution of attractive prizes to the winner.

The 25th jubilee celebrations successfully honoured the past while setting a positive tone for the next chapter. It was a time of reflection, joy, and inspiration, uniting everyone in a shared vision for the future.
