Mangaluru: CM Siddaramaiah to inaugurate State Olympics on Jan 17 at Mangala Stadium

Mangaluru Dec 30: Chief Minister Siddarammaih will inaugurate ‘State Olympics’ on January 17 at Mangala Stadium, informed deputy commissioner Mullai Muhilan.

State Olympics will be held from January 17 to 23. The events will be held at multiple venues in Mangaluru and Udupi. AS many as 12 events Olympic events will be held in Mangaluru and 11 events in Udupi. The event was last held at Dharwad nearly 7-8 years ago organized by Karnataka State Olympic Association.

Close to 4000 national and international level athletes are expected to take part in the event.

Events:

Basketball and Fencing at US Mallya indoor stadium Mannagudda

Football and Kho Kho at Nehru Maidan

Handball, Netball and Volleyball at Mangala stadium

Swimming at Yemmekere stadium Bolar

Weight lifting at Ambedkar Bhavan Urwa store

Badminton at Marena indoor stadium KMC Attavar

Wushu and Taekwondo State employees hall Hampankatta.
