Mangaluru: Expert PU College celebrates 39th institution day with awards, insights

Mangaluru, Dec 30: The 39th annual "Expert Day" of Expert Pre-University College was celebrated with grandeur on December 29, marking the founding day of the institution.

V. Ponnuraj IAS, senior advisor to the executive director of the Asian Development Bank, Manila, graced the event as the chief guest.

In his address, Ponnuraj expressed his delight in participating in the annual celebration of such a pioneering institution. He emphasised that passion and dedication toward one’s chosen career lead to greater success. He also highlighted that while marks offer better opportunities, knowledge enables the development of essential skills.

Dr Yenepoya Abdulla Kunhi, chancellor of Yenepoya Deemed to be University, was the guest of honour. He stressed that success comes through hard work, perseverance, and dedication. He also praised Expert Pre-University College for effectively guiding students on this path.

Prof. Narendra L Nayak, chairman of Expert Group of Institutions, presided over the event. He encouraged students to draw inspiration from the rank holders who were felicitated for their outstanding achievements.

Dr. Ushaprabha N Nayak, vice-chairperson of Expert Group of Institutions, delivered the keynote address. She stated that "Expert Day" celebrates the hard work and success of both students and staff. She urged students to seize every opportunity that comes their way and make the best use of them.

During the event, rank holders and achievers from the previous academic year were felicitated, along with outstanding students from the current year. Dhiren A Shetty was awarded the "Expert Super Star" award, Niyati N received the "Best in Non-Scholastics" award, and Saish Shravan Pandit won the "Best in Scholastics" award.

Several dignitaries were present, including Ustad Rafique Khan (trustee), Ankush N Nayak (IT director), Deepika A Nayak (architect), S S Nayak (CA), Jagannath Kamath (Auditor), Prabhakar Sharma (retired ADC), Prof Ramachandra Bhat (principal, Kodialbail Campus), Sambhram Varnekar (Student Council President), and Pavani Rajanish Varma (Student Council vice-president).

Dr N K Vijayan Karippal, principal, introduced the chief guest and the guest of honour, extending a warm welcome to the dignitaries.

Subramanya Udupa, vice-principal and programme director, proposed the vote of thanks. Students Vaishnavi Gururaj and Ujwal Boodihal hosted the event.

A cultural extravaganza followed the formal function.

    I have been tracking the great success story of Expert group of institutions in carrer building of the budding new generations ever since it's inception.I can vouch safe on the fact that this is a top most coaching centre for the students aspiring to build their future on the desired goal....Glad that the PU college has this additional tadka of cultural programmes with student councils celebrating annual day , coupled with inspiration from achievers in the curriculam and real life participating as awarded and guest of honour.
