Mangaluru, Jan 1: A massive tree came crashing down in front of the Balmatta Sahodaya Hall near the Balmatta sports ground, causing significant damage to electrical infrastructure and disrupting services in the area.

The uprooted tree fell directly on power lines and utility poles, leading to extensive damage to Mescom’s network.

Vehicular movement in the vicinity came to a standstill, and a family narrowly escaped harm during the incident.

The fallout from the mishap has caused interruptions in electricity and water supply to the surrounding areas. Authorities are working to restore normalcy as soon as possible.
