Mangaluru: Mulki revenue inspector’s bail plea rejected in bribery case

Mangaluru, Jan 8: The third additional district and sessions (special) court, Mangaluru, rejected the bail plea of Mulki revenue inspector G S Dinesh, who is in judicial custody after being caught accepting a bribe. Judge Sandhya S dismissed the application, extending his judicial custody.

On December 19, 2024, Dinesh was arrested by Lokayukta police while accepting a Rs 4 lac bribe. A case under the Prevention of Corruption Act was registered, and he was produced before the court.

The Lokayukta investigation team, led by superintendent of police Nataraj M A and represented by special public prosecutor Ravindra Munnippady, acted on a complaint regarding a long-pending case. The complainant commended the Lokayukta for resolving the matter involving the inclusion of heirs’ names for a minimal fee of Rs 210.

The accused remains in judicial custody following the court's decision.
