Abu Dhabi, Jan 10: Demonstrating its unwavering commitment to global humanitarian efforts, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has dispatched 700 tonnes of critical food supplies to assist those affected by devastating floods in Somalia.
This initiative aligns with the UAE leadership’s directives to provide immediate relief and support to nations grappling with natural disasters. The shipment, comprising essential food packages, is designed to meet the urgent needs of approximately 150,000 individuals from flood-stricken communities in Somalia.
Ahmed Juma Al Rumaithi, UAE Ambassador to Somalia, emphasized the solidarity and enduring bond between the two nations. He stated, “This initiative reflects the UAE’s steadfast commitment to standing with the brotherly Somali people during challenging times. Our leadership remains dedicated to ensuring aid reaches those in dire need, fostering recovery and easing suffering.”
The UAE continues to collaborate with local and international partners to deliver assistance swiftly and effectively. This aid effort underscores the UAE’s pivotal role in global emergency response, highlighting its deeply rooted values of humanitarianism, stability, and development.
